Purchase a Composter
Did you know Orlando Family Hardware on Main Street in the old Grand Union Plaza is collaborating with the Town in selling Miracle Gro Dual Chamber Composters?
If you thought composting wasn’t for you, this composter may change your mind. Affordable, compact and easy to use.
We cannot offer a discount at this time but what a convenient way to purchase and you are offering support to a local business!
Information is available at Town hall and the hardware store.
If you cannot get to Orlando’s and would like to get a discount; Dutchess County Division of Solid Waste Management offers a single barrel composter at a discount to residents. Plus they offer a wide range of composting information.

Go to the "Dump"
Changes at the “Dump”
Even if you have your garbage collected you should visit the “dump”.
Besides the longstanding policy of the collection of newspapers by the scouts; NOW Troop 55 is collecting deposit items on the second Saturday of the month. That is all deposit items (glass, metal and plastic) and they don’t need to be separated.
As always the “dump” still collects your personal recyclables including glass, metal, plastic, paper and cardboard.
Also remember NO construction debris. This policy changed in 2020. Please contact Recycle Depot in Poughkeepsie to find out how to properly dispose of you construction debris.
